The route at a glance

The Württemberg Wine Cycle Route is about 396 kilometres long and runs through Württemberg's wine country, starting in Stuttgart. It follows the Neckar valley, past wine towns such as Besigheim and Lauffen am Neckar, and through Ludwigsburg, Marbach and Heilbronn. Wineries and Besenwirtschaften, the seasonal wine taverns, let you taste the local wines, and some estates offer tours. The route is well signposted, with flat riverside stretches alternating with harder climbs through the vineyards.
