The route at a glance
The Vendée Vélo Tour is a network of more than 700 kilometres of well-signposted cycle routes in the Vendée in western France, and you can start anywhere on it. Along the Atlantic coast you ride past sandy beaches where you can stop for a swim. Inland, the routes cross the Marais Poitevin, known as Green Venice, a wetland laced with canals and full of wildlife, and lead to the abbey at Nieul-sur-l'Autise. The network suits riders of every level, for a single day or a tour of several weeks.
