The route at a glance
The Swabian Alb Cycle Path runs through the Ries UNESCO Geopark and the Swabian Alb UNESCO Geopark and is full of earth history. You ride past meteorite craters and extinct volcanoes, along winding rivers, through deep gorges and to turquoise karst springs. Add half-timbered towns, noble castles and the world of the Lion Man, one of humanity's oldest artworks. At the SchieferErlebnis Dormettingen you can dig for fossils yourself, and evenings bring breweries, inns and sparkling fruit wine from old Swabian varieties.
