The route at a glance
The Danish part of the North Sea Cycle Route, EuroVelo 12, runs for about 840 kilometres from Rudbøl on the German border up Jutland's west coast to Skagen, then down the east coast to Grenå. In the south you ride past marshes, dikes and the Wadden Sea, and further north come dunes, heath and fjords. At Thyborøn a ferry takes you across the Limfjord, and between Blokhus and Løkken you ride about 16 kilometres on the beach. Signage is continuous, and the west coast is often windy.
