The route at a glance

The Loire cycle route follows the Loire, France's longest river, for more than 800 kilometres, and it is well signposted and mostly flat. You ride through Orléans, the city of Joan of Arc, and Tours, a centre of the French Renaissance. Châteaux such as Chambord, with its large grounds, line the valley, and vineyards along the way offer wine tastings. Accommodation runs the whole length of the route, from bed and breakfasts to hotels, which makes planning your stages easy.
