The route at a glance

The Heidelberg to Lake Constance cycle route links Heidelberg with Lake Constance over about 285 kilometres, crossing the Black Forest. From the old town with its castle and Old Bridge you leave the Neckar valley for the northern Black Forest, riding through woods and over hills past Baden-Baden and Freudenstadt. The route then crosses the hilly upper Danube valley and drops to Lake Constance, where Konstanz and Meersburg are waiting. It is well signposted, but plan for some climbs in the Black Forest.
