The route at a glance

The Black Forest Panorama cycle route runs for about 287 kilometres south from Pforzheim, the Gold City on the northern edge of the Black Forest. You ride through dense forest, past lakes and over sunny heights with views over mountains and valleys. Along the way you pass Altensteig, Freudenstadt with its large market square and later the Kinzig valley with its crafts, and Black Forest ham and cherry cake belong to every break. The route is well signposted and mixes moderate with more demanding sections, so some fitness helps.
