The route at a glance

The Lahn Cycle Path runs for about 245 kilometres from the source of the Lahn near Netphen in the Rothaar Mountains to where it joins the Rhine at Lahnstein. You ride through the hilly country of Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, past woods, river meadows and small villages. On the way are the university town of Marburg with its castle above the old town, Limburg and its colourful cathedral, and the spa town of Bad Ems with its historic bathhouses. The path is well built and signposted for riders of any experience.
