The route at a glance
La Voie Bleue Moselle Saône runs about 700 kilometres from Apach on the Luxembourg border to Lyon, following the Moselle and then the Saône. In the Moselle valley you ride through wine villages to Metz with its Gothic cathedral and to Nancy, known for its grand squares and Art Nouveau buildings. Further south you follow the Saône through Burgundy, past vineyards and through Chalon-sur-Saône and Mâcon. The route ends in Lyon, famous for its food, and works well as a long bike trip right across France.
